Inmate and Family Resources

Inmate visitation is conducted through a video visitation system. On-site visits take place at Fairfield County Jail, located at 345 Lincoln Avenue, Lancaster, Ohio.

SCHEDULING A VISIT

Visitors must schedule a visit at least 48 hours in advance. Visits may be scheduled using:

• The visitation kiosk located in the jail lobby
• Online through ICSolutions (opens in a new window – external site)

VISITOR REQUIREMENTS

• Visitors must arrive on time for their scheduled visit. If you are late, you will not be permitted to visit.
• Visitors must provide a valid photo ID. After identification has been verified, visitors will be directed to an available visitation booth located near the lobby.
• Once the inmate logs into the visitation system, the video connection will begin.

ON-SITE VISITATION SCHEDULE

Each inmate is permitted one (1) twenty-minute visit per week.

Monday – Friday
9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. (last visit begins at 10:30 a.m.)
2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. (last visit begins at 3:30 p.m.)

OFF-SITE VIDEO VISITATION

Additional off-site visitation may be purchased at ICSolutions (opens in a new window – external site).

Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday
5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. (last visit begins at 7:30 p.m.)

The Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office provides collect-call telephone service in all inmate housing units through ICSolutions.

The Fairfield County Jail utilizes TextBehind (opens in a new window – external site) to process all personal mail sent to inmates.

ELECTRONIC MAIL

Electronic letters, greeting cards, photographs, and children’s drawings may be sent through the TextBehind (opens in a new window – external site) website or the free TextBehind mobile app.

HANDWRITTEN MAIL

Handwritten mail must be mailed to TextBehind for processing. TextBehind will create a photocopy of the correspondence and electronically deliver it to the Fairfield County Jail.

Mail must be addressed exactly as follows:

Inmate First and Last Name
Offender ID Number
Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office (Do not abbreviate the facility name)
P.O. Box 247
Phoenix, MD 21131

Mail that is not properly addressed will not be accepted.

UNACCEPTABLE MAIL

The sender’s first and last name must appear on the envelope addressed to TextBehind. Mail with incomplete information will be discarded.

The following items are not accepted through TextBehind:

• Legal mail
• Money orders
• Personal checks
• Gift cards
• Cash

Any prohibited items received through TextBehind will be returned to the sender.

MAIL PROCESSING

Mail received through TextBehind is processed and electronically delivered to the Fairfield County Jail Monday through Friday.

Money may be deposited into an inmate’s account using the kiosk located in the lobby of the Fairfield County Jail at 345 Lincoln Avenue, Lancaster, Ohio.

The kiosk accepts the following payment methods:

• U.S. currency (cash) in $5, $10, $20, $50, and $100 bills
• Credit or debit cards

The jail kitchen is operated by Trinity, a private food service contractor. All meals are prepared fresh on-site in the jail kitchen.

DAILY MEALS

• Inmates receive three nutritious meals each day.
• Meals follow a five-week rotating menu approved by a licensed nutritionist.
• The kitchen staff prepares thousands of meals each month.

TRINITY TAKE-OUT MEALS

Family and friends can purchase a special meal through Trinity Take-Out.

After an order is placed, the meal is prepared by the jail kitchen and delivered directly to the inmate.

Medical services are provided under the supervision of a licensed physician. Nursing care is provided by Team Health, the jail’s private medical contractor.

MEDICAL CARE

• All inmates have access to emergency medical care.
• Inmates with non-emergency medical concerns must submit a Sick Call Request Form to be seen by the jail physician.
• The jail physician conducts regular sick call appointments each week.

MEDICATIONS

• Medications are distributed to inmates daily at scheduled times.
• Any medication brought to the jail by family members or collected during the booking process must be reviewed and approved by the jail’s medical staff before it can be provided to an inmate.

Important: You are responsible for reporting at the date and time ordered by the sentencing judge. Your reporting information is listed on your court commitment paperwork.

REPORTING TIME

Report to the jail on the date and time ordered by the court.

If an emergency causes you to arrive late, you should still report as soon as possible. Late arrivals will be reported to the sentencing court and may result in additional time being added to your sentence.

WHAT TO BRING

Please bring:

• Government-issued photo identification
• Health insurance or medical card (if applicable)
• Current prescription medications in their original pharmacy containers

CLOTHING

Jail-issued clothing will be provided while you are in jail. Socks and underwear may be purchased through the inmate commissary after admission.

MONEY & COMMISSARY

Inmates may purchase approved food, hygiene products, and other authorized items through the commissary.

Commissary is ordered Monday and delivered to inmates on Sunday.

PRESCRIPTION MEDICATIONS

Prescription medications:

• Must be in the original pharmacy container.
• Must be brought by the inmate during admission or a family member.
• Must have been prescribed within the last 90 days.
• Will be reviewed by medical staff before being issued.
