Investigation Bureau
The Investigation Bureau is responsible for conducting criminal investigations into all major crimes including murder, assault, and robbery, as well as property related crimes, such as burglary and theft. In response to the needs of our community, the Investigation Bureau has a dedicated SVU detective with their focus being sexual assault case involving juveniles and adults.

Sgt. Jeffrey S. Reed II
Sergeant Reed has been with the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office since 2006 where he began in the jail. Sergeant Reed has experience in the jail and patrol bureaus, as well as being a member of the Sheriff’s Office SWAT team and Drone team. Sergeant Reed was a School Resource Officer at the Canal Winchester Schools for five years prior to being promoted to Sergeant in 2018. Sergeant Reed began his supervisory duties on 3 rd shift jail and patrol until he was moved to full time 3 rd shift patrol. While on 3 rd shift patrol, Sergeant Reed managed the Field Training Program along with being involved in multiple other Sheriff’s Office committees. Sergeant Reed is also a certified instructor of multiple secondary weapons as well as certified to instruct OPOTA courses. Sergeant Reed attended Zane State College for his OPOTA and college.
